Terms of Service

The plain-English rules for using maketwitchemotes.com. We've kept them short, human, and free of surprises — if something here ever feels unfair, tell us and we will fix it.

Effective date:

Welcome to maketwitchemotes.com ("we", "us", "our"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of our websites, maketwitchemotes.com and any subdomains, and the tools, downloads, and digital content we make available through them (the "Service"). By using the Service you confirm that you are at least 13 years old, that you have read and agreed to these Terms, and that you have read our Privacy Policy.

1. Who we are

maketwitchemotes.com is operated by Emote Studio, an individual / sole-trader business ("we", "us", "our", the "Operator") — not a corporate entity. We make free tools for Twitch streamers who need to resize emotes to the 28×28, 56×56, and 112×112 sizes that Twitch requires, plus a small shop where you can grab a polished pack of original emotes ready to upload.

If you need to reach a person in a legal capacity, write to [email protected] and we will reply within 2 business days.

2. What the Service actually is

Most of the Service is a browser-based emote resizer that runs entirely on your device. We do not upload your emote artwork to our servers — the resize happens locally so your unreleased character art stays private. A small part of the Service is a downloadable asset pack that we sell for a one-time fee. Both are digital goods: once you have access, there is nothing to ship and nothing to return.

If we add subscriptions, credit packs, or AI-powered generation later, those features will be introduced under updated terms. The version below covers today's product; we will publish a new version before any new paid feature launches.

3. Accounts and credentials

Right now you do not need an account to use the resizer or to download free packs. Paid downloads are processed by our payment processor — you check out as a guest and we email your download link to whatever address you provide at checkout. That email is your key to your purchase. Keep it safe. If you suspect someone used your purchase link, write to [email protected] and we will reissue a fresh link.

4. The Full Pack purchase

The Full Pack is a one-time digital purchase. It costs USD 9.95 (or the local equivalent shown at checkout) and gives you a ZIP of PNG emotes sized to 28×28, 56×56, and 112×112, ready to upload to Twitch. The pack is original artwork owned by Emote Studio; your purchase gives you a personal, perpetual license to use the emotes on your own Twitch channel (and on Discord, YouTube, and other platforms where your channel lives). You may not resell, rebrand, or redistribute the files as art assets.

After your payment clears we email a download link to the address you gave us at checkout. The link stays active for the lifetime of the product. If you lose the email, write to [email protected] from the address you used at checkout and we will resend it.

5. Pricing and taxes

The price of every product is listed on our Pricing page before checkout: the resizer and free packs are $0 forever, and the Full Pack is a one-time USD 9.95 purchase (or the local equivalent shown at checkout). There are no subscriptions, no credit packs, and no auto-renewal. Local sales tax, VAT, GST, and any equivalent charges are calculated and collected by our payment processor (Waffo Pancake) at checkout — we do not see your card details, and the displayed total is what you are charged. We do not control exchange rates if your bank converts to another currency.

6. Refunds

Because the Full Pack is a digital product that is delivered immediately on purchase, all sales are final. That said, we are a tiny shop run by a real person, and we want you to feel good about this purchase. We will issue a refund if any of these situations apply:

  • You were charged twice for the same order (we will refund the duplicate in full).
  • You did not receive the download email within 24 hours and we cannot get it to you (full refund).
  • The files turned out to be technically broken on a supported setup (full refund or replacement, your choice).
  • Your local law grants you a cancellation right (such as the EU/UK 14-day cooling-off period for digital content) and you have not downloaded or unzipped the pack — we honour that right.

To request a refund, write to [email protected] from the email you used at checkout, include your order ID, and tell us what went wrong. We reply within 2 business days and resolve confirmed issues within 5 business days. Read the full Refund Policy.

7. Acceptable use

Please use the Service for what it is meant for. You agree not to:

  • Use the resizer or any tool to build, train, or benchmark a competing emote or image-resizing product.
  • Resell, repackage, or scrape the Full Pack files as if they were your own artwork.
  • Upload files that contain other people's characters, brand logos, or streamer likenesses you do not have permission to use.
  • Try to break, scrape, or reverse-engineer the Service, or bypass any limits we set.
  • Use the Service for anything illegal in your jurisdiction.

We are a small team. If you do abuse the Service we may block your access and, where appropriate, ask our payment processor to reverse the transaction.

8. Billing disputes

If you see a charge from us that you do not recognise, write to [email protected] before opening a dispute with your bank. We reply within 2 business days and resolve confirmed billing errors within 5 business days. Most "unrecognised" charges turn out to be the Full Pack purchase itself — the descriptor on your statement will read something like WAFFO *MAKETWITCHEM.

9. Intellectual property

Our stuff. The Site, the resizer code, the layout, the pack designs, and the brand marks of maketwitchemotes.com belong to Emote Studio. You may link to the Site, embed the resizer on your stream overlay, and use the Full Pack emotes on your own channels under the license in Section 4.

Your stuff. Anything you upload to the resizer stays yours. Because processing happens on your device, we never see it, never store it, and never use it to train anything.

10. Third-party services

The Service relies on the following providers, each governed by their own terms and privacy practices:

  • Waffo Pancake — our payment processor. Card data is handled by Waffo under PCI-DSS; it never touches our servers.
  • Hosting, analytics, and email delivery providers — listed in our Privacy Policy.

11. Disclaimer and limitation of liability

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". We do our best to keep it fast, accurate, and available, but we cannot promise that it will be uninterrupted or that every output will be perfect. To the maximum extent allowed by law, our total liability for any claim related to the Service is capped at the amount you actually paid us in the 12 months before the claim — which, for most users, is zero.

12. Changes to these Terms

If we change these Terms in a way that affects existing users (such as the launch of a new paid feature), we will email active customers and post a notice on the Site at least 14 days before the change takes effect. The "Effective date" at the top of this page reflects the current version.

13. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you seriously break these Terms, if a payment processor requires us to, or if we shut down the project. If we shut down the project for a reason other than your breach, active Full Pack customers will get at least 30 days' email notice and a final chance to download their files.

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the place where Emote Studio operates as an individual business, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Nothing in this section removes any mandatory consumer protection rights you have under the laws of your own country.
