About
We make emote work less of a chore.
maketwitchemotes.com exists because of one very specific kind of frustration — the moment you have a perfect 112×112 character drawing in Photoshop, and you still have to remember which three sizes Twitch wants, which format, which file size limit, and what happens if you accidentally re-export it as JPG.
We built the smallest possible fix. A resizer that runs in your browser, never uploads your art, gives you all three sizes in one click, and gets out of the way. That tool — and the small shop that grew up around it — is what this site is.
How it started
The first version was a single HTML file, hand-written in 2024, for a friend who was about to launch her first Twitch channel. She had the art. She did not have Photoshop. She did not have time to learn Photoshop. She did, however, have a browser tab and a deadline.
That tab grew. We added animated GIF support, then a chat-preview panel so you can see the emote the way your viewers will see it, then a batch mode so you can resize a whole month's emote plans in one go. Eventually other streamers started using it, too. We figured if it was already helping them, it could be a small, useful public tool.
Today maketwitchemotes.com serves a few thousand streamers a week — Affiliate up, a handful of Partners, the occasional VTuber — and the original friend still drops by in DMs every time we ship a new feature.
What we believe
- ● Privacy by default. Your unreleased character art is exactly the stuff you do not want leaving your computer. The resizer processes every file locally. We do not store your uploads, we do not use them to train models, and we cannot sell them because we have never seen them.
- ● Free should mean free. No accounts, no watermarks, no "subscribe to download in 1080p". The resizer is free to use forever. The Full Pack is a separate, optional purchase for people who would rather not design 30 emotes themselves.
- ● Tiny shop, real humans. Emote Studio is a one-person business (with occasional help from freelance illustrators). When you email us, you get a reply from a person — usually within a business day, often the same afternoon.
- ● Build for the next streamer, not just the biggest ones. The most-used feature on this site is still the same one we shipped on day one: a one-click resize for three small PNG files.
What's in the shop
The free packs (cute pets, chibis, a frog with great expression) are previewable on the emotes page — they exist so you can test the resizer with real artwork.
The Full Pack is a paid collection of original emotes designed for first-day Affiliates and Partners who want a coherent channel vibe without spending six weeks commissioning art. It is one ZIP, sized to Twitch's three required sizes, with a perpetual personal license for your channel — USD 9.95 one-time, no subscription. Full details on the pricing page.
We do not sell channel art, banners, or alerts, and we do not plan to. A small focused catalog is easier to keep quality high.
What's coming next
Two things, in this order:
- More packs. A second paid pack with a different visual theme, plus seasonal mini-packs for Halloween, Pride, New Year, and so on.
- An AI emote generator with credits. Describe your emote, get a starting point, iterate. Credits will be sold in the same shop with the same checkout. We'll bring this in only after the first pack is selling reliably, so the launch doesn't cannibalise the part of the business that actually pays the bills.
The team
Emote Studio is effectively one person, plus a couple of trusted freelance illustrators we commission for the packs. We hire for design work, not for "content", so every emote in the shop was drawn by someone who got paid to draw it.
We are not a startup. We are not looking for funding. We are not building an "engagement platform". We are just one person running a tool they wished had existed when they were starting out.
